What about peacock blue in decoration

In decorating, among the trend colors for 2024, peacock blue ranks high. We’re seeing more and more blue walls on Instagram, and I’m even starting to notice them in TV commercials. Peacock blue is often used on a single wall, or even in a nook. I think we’re always a little afraid of using too much color and darkening interiors. Especially as this blue, so fashionable at the moment, is quite dark. If you don’t want to use it on the walls, you can simply choose a plaid, an armchair or a sofa for the living room and sheets for the bedroom.

1 – What is dark blue?

Peacock blue is a captivating shade that has conquered the world of interior design in recent years. It lies somewhere between blue and green, creating a versatile color palette that can bring a touch of elegance to any room. It’s known for its ability to blend perfectly with a variety of decorative styles, whether it’s a modern, rustic or classic interior. It can be used as the main color for walls, furniture or accessories, or in small touches to add depth to a space. Either way, Peacock blue is an interesting option for those looking for a subtle yet bold way to add color to their interior design.

The living room is the perfect place to try out a little blue. Whether behind the sofa or highlighting a beautiful sideboard, blue brings style to the living room.

In the living room, the colored wall sets the tone. To make a success of your decor, you need to choose blue carefully, so that it goes well with the other colors in the room. White is the first choice for other walls, but it’s not the only option.

If you’re prepared to go for true Peacock blue, as seen here by Caro from the blog “promenons nous au jardin”, the result will look darker but very modern and trendy.

5 – A blue wall in the kitchen

Peacock blue is a versatile color that can bring a touch of sophistication to your kitchen. Here are a few ideas on how to incorporate it stylishly into this central space of your home. For starters, blue kitchen cabinets can be a bold and elegant option. This hue adds depth and character to the room, while remaining subtle. You can also opt for Peacock blue backsplash tiles to add an interesting dimension to your walls. For a more subtle approach, blue accents in the form of accessories, such as chair cushions, tablecloths or even tableware, can add a touch of color without overpowering. Finally, for the more adventurous, a kitchen island painted Peacock blue can be the focal point of your space, creating a chic, contemporary ambience. By incorporating blue into your kitchen, you add a fresh, modern touch while creating a warm, welcoming space for cooking and sharing meals with family and friends.

To choose the blue for my kitchen, I first chose a wallpaper with colored stripes, including blue. Using a color chart, I found the blue of the tapestry and installed it on 2 other walls. So, in the kitchen, I have a multicolored wallpaper wall, two blue walls and one white wall. I didn’t go for the Peacock blue, which seemed too dark and not cheerful enough for the kitchen.
